Ram Nath Kovind to Grace RSS Centenary Celebrations as Chief Guest

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has named former President Ram Nath Kovind as the chief guest for its centenary celebrations. He will attend the event held in Nagpur on the day of Vijayadashami. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will also be present at the ceremony.

New Delhi: Former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, will be the chief guest at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) centenary celebrations this year. The event will be held on Vijayadashami, October 2, 2025, at Reshimbagh in Nagpur. Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat will deliver the guiding address on this occasion. The RSS is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its establishment this year. The Sangh was founded in 1925 on the day of Vijayadashami, and since then, the organization has been holding its main program every year on the occasion of Vijayadashami. 

By participating in this year's centenary celebrations, Ram Nath Kovind will become the second former President to be recorded in the history of the Sangh. Prior to this, former President Pranab Mukherjee had also attended an RSS event.

Details of Centenary Celebration

According to the information released by the RSS, the centenary celebration will be held on October 2, 2025, at 7.40 am at Reshimbagh, Nagpur. On this occasion, His Excellency Former President of India, Dr. Ram Nath Kovind, will be the chief guest. Along with this, Param Pujya Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will deliver the guiding address of the program.

In this program of the RSS, the founding ideals of the Sangh and the ideology of cultural nationalism will be specially highlighted. The major works of the Sangh and the achievements of social service will also be mentioned in this ceremony.

PM Modi praised the RSS

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day this year, had praised the work of the RSS, calling it the world's largest NGO. He praised the dedicated social service work of this organization from the ramparts of the Red Fort. PM Modi said that the RSS has organized hundreds of social and educational programs while adopting the basic principles of cultural nationalism.

Ram Nath Kovind was the President of India from 2017 to 2022. A year after leaving the presidency, in 2018, he attended the Sangh Shiksha Varg program at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. After this, last year, ISRO chief Dr. Radhakrishnan became the chief guest at the Sangh's Vijayadashami program. Ram Nath Kovind's presence at the centenary celebrations reflects the deep cooperation and respect between the Sangh and the former President. This program will not only mark the centenary of the Sangh but will also highlight the contribution of the Sangh in Indian politics and the social sphere.
