Saiee, a travel enthusiast, recently went to Finland to witness the Northern Lights and has returned after exploring its beautiful places. In an exclusive interview with ‘Navbharat Times’, she shared several interesting details about her wanderlust, eating habits, her father Mahesh Manjrekar, and Salman Khan.
Saiee Manjrekar's Cinematic Journey and Passion for Travel
Saiee Manjrekar had dreamt of becoming an investment banker before stepping into the film industry. But fate brought her into the world of films. In 2019, she made her acting debut with Salman Khan in 'Dabangg 3'. Subsequently, she appeared in films like 'Aurang Mein Kahaan Dum Tha' with Ajay Devgn and also showcased her acting talent in Telugu films such as 'Ghani', 'Major', and 'Skanda'.
Despite her film career, Saiee's passion for traveling never diminished. Saiee, who has loved traveling since childhood, says that her first memorable trips were to Matheran and Manali, which helped her decide that she wanted to travel the world. Saiee says, "Often you get stuck in your city and work, and in such times, traveling is essential to break the monotony. I still remember the trip to Spain with my dad (Mahesh Manjrekar), where we had a lot of fun and enjoyed Spanish food.
Journey to Finland's Northern Lights
Saiee's recent trip was to Lapland, Finland, where she witnessed the Northern Lights. Saiee shared that it was her childhood dream, and she had researched it for months. She and her school friends planned this trip when they had ten days free after Diwali. Saiee says, "We had an app to track the Northern Lights, which notified us to see them at five in the morning. Lying in our glass igloo, nestled under blankets, we continued to watch the colorful lights in the sky. It was an amazing and magical experience.
Trip Challenges and Experiences
Saiee also shared a funny incident that occurred during her trip. She mentioned that her purse was left behind in a restaurant in Finland, but a local person ran after her to return it. Additionally, there were minor visa-related issues, but she resolved them. Saiee also thoroughly enjoyed the local cuisine during her travels. She recounted savoring pancakes and berries with jam in a local market in Sweden.
Saiee Manjrekar revealed that she sponsored this trip with her own money, which was a moment of pride for her and her parents. She said, "My parents showed me the world since childhood, and now I was able to complete this dream trip on my own."
