Sanjog Gupta is originally a well-known name in the world of media and sports business. His career began in 2004 as a journalist when he joined Star News India. In 2020, he was appointed Head of Sports at Disney Star, where he played a significant role in the commercial and broadcast management of major sporting events, including the Indian Premier League (IPL).

After the merger of Disney Star and Viacom-18 in 2024, he was appointed CEO of Jio Star, from where he gave a new direction to the digital and television business of sports. Sanjog Gupta, with over 20 years of experience, understands the business nuances of the sports world as well as the pulse of the audience. This is why the ICC's nomination committee selected him from the 12 shortlisted candidates and appointed him as CEO with full consensus.
