State Bank of India has introduced a WhatsApp-based banking service that enables customers to access account-related information and other services remotely. The service is activated through the registered mobile number after completing the registration process and allows users to obtain balance details, mini statements, and loan information.
Customers can initiate the service by visiting the bank’s official website and scanning the provided QR code to complete registration. Alternatively, registration can be completed by sending an SMS from the registered mobile number to +917208933148 in the format “WAREG account number.” Once registered, the service becomes active for use.

To access the service, customers can send “Hi SBI” to +919022690226 on WhatsApp. The system then provides menu options, allowing users to select the required service. The platform facilitates access to account balance, mini statements of up to 10 transactions, account statements, and loan-related information.
The WhatsApp banking service also provides details on home loans, personal loans, car loans, and gold loans. Additional features include access to pension slips, deposit products, ATM locator services, card blocking, and downloading banking forms.
The bank has introduced this service to simplify digital banking and enable customers to obtain essential information without visiting a branch. The initiative is designed to provide faster access to banking services and improve overall convenience through digital channels.
