In Uttar Pradesh politics (UP Politics), the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) has once again become a topic of discussion. Dr. Arvind Rajbhar, son of party president Omprakash Rajbhar and an SBSP leader, has made a significant statement regarding the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.
Lucknow: At a large public meeting organized in Varanasi, Dr. Arvind Rajbhar, leader of the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP), gave a major hint regarding the 2027 assembly elections. Speaking to ABP News, he stated that his party has always contested elections in alliances and has increased its seat count every time. In 2017, they contested 8 seats, and this number increased to 18 in 2022.
Continuing this trend, they are preparing to contest 28 seats in 2027. He also clarified that SBSP will contest elections on two assembly seats in Varanasi.
The Rising Graph of Seats from 2017 to 2027
During a large public meeting held in Varanasi and subsequent media interactions, Arvind Rajbhar indicated the election strategy, stating that whenever SBSP has contested elections in an alliance, the party's performance has consistently improved. He gave an example, saying that in 2017, SBSP contested 8 seats under an alliance.
In 2022, this number rose to 18 seats. Now, for 2027, he hinted that the party might contest 28 seats. He stated that this progression is like nature—"always in increasing order." In this context, he also clarified that SBSP will contest two assembly seats in Varanasi. The party, which contested only one seat last time, is now claiming two seats.
Targeting the Yogi Government Through Officials
Reacting to the recent clash between police and lawyers in Varanasi, Arvind Rajbhar said that this is not new, as police and lawyers have long been at odds. He alleged that "some officials are deliberately vitiating the atmosphere and trying to defame the Yogi Adityanath government. These officials are neither concerned about their jobs nor the public. Their sole aim is to disrupt the environment and act according to the opposition's intentions."
Regarding the incident in Ghazipur where an SBSP worker was slapped by a female police officer, he said that it was merely a misunderstanding that has been resolved through discussion. Arvind Rajbhar also commented on Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. He said that Akhilesh Yadav is a prominent and good leader of the opposition, but some of his close associates are misleading him.
He alleged that attempts are being made to undermine Akhilesh Yadav's political ground and divert attention from his agenda by making him issue unnecessary statements. If Akhilesh were to study history and adopt the right strategy, he could further strengthen opposition politics.
