According to sources, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) chief Sharad Pawar may meet Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis on Wednesday. This crucial meeting is likely to address several sensitive political issues, including the demand for the resignation of Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate and the alleged attack on Nitin Deshmukh.
Kokate's Statement and Video Increase Difficulties
Pressure for Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate's resignation intensified after a video went viral during the assembly session, showing him playing 'Rummy' on his mobile phone. As soon as this video surfaced, opposition parties and social organizations targeted him. The Chhava organization staged a protest demanding his resignation, which led to a clash between workers of the Sharad Pawar faction and the Chhava organization in Latur. During this, Chhava organization leader Vijay Ghadge and other activists were assaulted, further deepening the controversy.
Ajit Pawar Reacts
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar reacted to this issue by saying that he would meet Minister Kokate and review the entire situation. He described the Latur incident as unfortunate and said that action has been initiated against the culprits. Pawar also informed that party leader Suraj Chavan, whose name surfaced in the clash, has been asked to resign. He has also spoken to the Superintendent of Police and instructed them to take strict action.
Chhava Organization's Warning
In this entire episode, the Chhava organization has adopted a b stance and warned that if no concrete action is taken against Kokate by Tuesday, they will also protest against Sharad Pawar. Organization leader Vijay Ghadge said that he has met Pawar in Pune and put forward his demands, but if the demands are not met, the agitation will be intensified.
