This controversy began when the Maharashtra government decided to include Hindi as a third language in primary schools in the state. Refusing to comment on the issue, Shilpa said: "I am a Maharashtra girl. Today, we are talking about the film 'KD'. If you are talking about another controversy, I don't want to promote it."
