Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre recently addressed long-standing rumors of an affair between herself and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray. Bendre categorically denied these rumors, dismissing them as mere gossip.

Bendre explained that she always focused on her work and maintained a reserved personal life. She stated that she never had a personal relationship with Raj Thackeray; while they knew each other, the rumored relationship was untrue.

In an interview with ANI, Sonali Bendre revealed that a video had once gone viral on social media, connecting her and Raj Thackeray. The video showed them together at a social event, leading to speculation of a crush on Thackeray's part. Responding to this, Bendre said, "Did he really have a crush? I doubt it.

I was talking to my sister in that video, who was standing nearby. People connect things arbitrarily. This doesn't seem right, especially when families are involved.

Long-Standing Family Connection with Raj Thackeray

Bendre further explained that she and Raj Thackeray share a long-standing family connection. She stated, "My brother-in-law is a cricketer, and he played with Raj's cousin. Our families have always had social interactions. My sister's mother-in-law was the head of the English department at Ramnarain Ruia College, where I studied." She clarified that the relationship between the two families has always been purely social and familial, nothing more.

Following the linking of her name with a political figure, the question arose about whether Bendre would enter politics. Responding to this, she said, "No, I have no interest in politics. It requires very thick skin, which I don't possess. I am not politically correct, nor do I ever want to be." She clarified that she doesn't enjoy navigating the political environment and her inclination has always been towards art and creativity.

Sonali Bendre's Career and Battle with Cancer

Sonali, who debuted in Bollywood with the film 'Aag' in 1994, went on to star in several major films including 'Diljale', 'Sarfarosh', 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', 'Zakhm', and 'Major Saab'. She is known not only for her beauty but also for her powerful acting. In 2018, when she was diagnosed with cancer, she faced it with courage and a positive attitude. She went to America for treatment and, after a long battle, overcame the disease. Today, she is not only a cancer survivor but also a b advocate for cancer awareness.

She recently made her OTT debut with the Zee5 web series 'Broken News', where she played the role of Amina Qureshi, a sharp journalist. Her performance was widely praised.
