Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, after being expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for six years and estranged from his family, has publicly responded for the first time. He shared an emotional post on social media, apologizing to his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, and blaming 'greedy individuals like Jaychand' within the party for his situation.
'My dearest Mom and Dad, you are my entire world'
Tej Pratap Yadav wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "My dearest Mom and Dad... my entire world resides only in both of you. You are greater than God, and any command from you is paramount. With you, I have everything. I only need your trust and love, nothing else."
He further wrote, "Papa, if you weren't there, neither this party nor these greedy people like Jaychand who engage in politics with me would exist. Mom and Dad, may you both remain healthy and happy always."
Lalu Yadav distances Tej Pratap from the party and family
On May 25, 2025, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party for six years and also distanced him from the family. This decision followed Tej Pratap's social media post claiming a 12-year relationship with Anushka Yadav. He later claimed his account was hacked and that it was a conspiracy against him.
Lalu Yadav stated, "Disregarding ethical values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. My elder son's actions, public conduct, and irresponsible behavior are not in line with our family values and traditions. Therefore, due to the above circumstances, I am distancing him from the party and the family. From now on, he will have no role whatsoever in the party or family. He is expelled from the party for six years."
Relationship with Anushka Yadav and the ensuing controversy
On May 24, Tej Pratap Yadav shared a picture with Anushka Yadav on his Facebook account, claiming a 12-year relationship. This post went viral, but he later deleted it and clarified that his account had been hacked. This incident escalated the conflict within the party and family.
Statement by Anushka Yadav's brother
Anushka Yadav's brother, Akash Yadav, who was the president of the student wing of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), supported Tej Pratap and criticized Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. He was subsequently expelled from his party for six years as well.
