Noida: The firing incident at Bollywood actress Disha Patani's house and on her father had shaken the entire country. Two shooters involved in this sensational crime were gunned down in a police encounter in Ghaziabad on Wednesday evening. While both criminals met their end in this 15-minute gun battle, four policemen were also injured by the miscreants' bullets.
Identification and Criminal History of the Miscreants
The police have identified the criminals killed as Ravindra alias Binda, a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, and Arun, a resident of Sonipat. Both are reported to be active members of the Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar gangs. This gang is notorious for criminal activities like extortion and murder in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
Investigation revealed that Ravindra had been active in the world of crime since 2020 and had carried out several incidents with his associates. Arun was also considered a trusted member of the gang. Both of them had several cases registered against them for murder, extortion, and attacking police parties.
Police-Miscreant Encounter in Tronica City
Acting on information, the Delhi Special Cell, Noida STF, Haryana STF, and UP Police cordoned off the Tronica City (Ghaziabad) area. As the two miscreants arrived on a white Apache motorcycle, the police attempted to stop them. To evade arrest, the shooters suddenly opened fire indiscriminately.
A total of four personnel from the Delhi Special Cell and Noida STF were injured in this shootout. However, the police retaliated, and in an encounter lasting about 15 minutes, both criminals were shot dead. They were taken to the hospital, where they succumbed during treatment.
Ziganapistol Arrived Via Pakistan-Nepal Route
Following the encounter, the police recovered Ziganapistols and Glock pistols, dozens of cartridges, and an Apache bike from the scene. Special attention was drawn to the Ziganapistol, which is considered a favorite among gangsters. This weapon is manufactured in Turkey and enters India via Pakistan, either by drone or through Nepal.
The specialty of the Ziganapistol is that it does not jam during firing and can fire multiple rounds consecutively. This weapon was also used in the Sidhu Moosewala and Atiq Ahmed murder cases. Its price in India ranges from 4 to 7 lakh rupees and it is completely banned.
Investigation into Firing on Disha Patani's Family
On September 11, unknown miscreants fired at Disha Patani's house in Bareilly. The next day, her father, retired DSP Jagdish Patani, was also targeted. These incidents became a topic of discussion across Uttar Pradesh, and the security agencies faced increasing pressure to track down the culprits.
Investigation revealed that Ravindra and Arun were behind these attacks. Disha Patani's sister, Khushboo Patani, had also received threats on social media. Following intelligence from informants and a joint police operation, both shooters were finally eliminated. This brought relief to the Patani family, but it also raised serious questions about the smuggling of foreign weapons and the activities of inter-state gangs.
