Uttar Pradesh Implements 'No Helmet, No Fuel' Campaign to Enhance Road Safety

The Uttar Pradesh government has made a significant decision regarding road safety. The “No Helmet, No Fuel” campaign has been launched in the state from September 1st and will continue until September 30th. During this period, no petrol or diesel will be provided to any two-wheeler rider without a helmet.

UP New Rule: The Yogi government has taken a major initiative to strictly enforce road safety in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has announced that a special campaign, 'No Helmet, No Fuel', will be launched across the entire state starting September 1st. The objective of this campaign is life protection, everyone's safety. This campaign will run until September 30th and will be implemented at the district level under the leadership of the District Magistrate, in coordination with the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC). During the campaign, the transport department, police, revenue department, and district administration will jointly play a key role.

Objective of the Campaign

The main goal of this initiative is to reduce fatalities and serious injuries in road accidents. The UP government believes that a helmet is not only legally mandatory but also a shield for the safety of citizens' lives. CM Yogi has stated that the purpose of this rule is not to punish people, but to encourage them to adopt safe behavior.

'Helmet First, Fuel Later' to be Implemented Across the State.

This campaign will be conducted at the district level under the leadership of the District Magistrate. Action will be taken in coordination with the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC). Officials from the transport department, police, revenue, and district administration will work together in the campaign. The Information and Public Relations Department will be responsible for spreading awareness. Uttar Pradesh Transport Commissioner, Brajesh Narayan Singh, stated that this campaign is entirely in public interest. He explained that when citizens cannot get petrol without a helmet, they will soon make it a part of their lifestyle.

He appealed to oil marketing companies and all petrol pump operators for their active cooperation in this campaign. Additionally, the Food and Logistics Department has been assigned the responsibility of ensuring coordination and monitoring at the petrol pump level. The government believes that this campaign will be successful only when both the public and the industry participate. The Petrol Dealers Association has also supported the government's decision. Citizens have been appealed to consider this campaign not just as a rule, but as a commitment to safety.
