VIP Darshan Controversy at Banke Bihari Temple

A case has surfaced in the famous Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where some VIP individuals observed Thakur Ji while seated on chairs during the Sawan month. The Hindu Mahasabha has alleged that this incident breached the sanctity of the temple and contravened court directives. During the incident, the VIPs were accompanied by armed security personnel, and the entire event was video recorded, causing distress to the temple's dignity.

Pundit Sanjay Haryana, State Vice President of the All India Hindu Mahasabha, and advocate Deepak Sharma jointly filed a petition in court regarding this matter. The petition stated that during the Sawan month, Thakur Ji's throne is placed in the Jagmohan area of the temple, and it was during this time that some VIPs received special facilities to watch from seated positions. The court, upon reviewing the petition, has issued notices to the temple management seeking their reply, and further action will be determined after an investigation.

Attempt to Showcase Superiority by Posing as Devotees

The court of the Joint Petition Civil Judge (Junior Division) in Mathura, during its hearing on August 29, ordered the issuance of notices to the temple manager, the District Magistrate, the Senior Superintendent of Police, and the temple management. Pandit Sanjay Haryana of the Hindu Mahasabha stated that no one can be greater than Thakur Ji, but some VIP individuals attempted to portray themselves as superior to the deity. He explained that these actions, performed while posing as devotees, have hurt the sanctity and faith associated with the temple, making legal action necessary.

Contempt of Court Order

Advocate Deepak Sharma stated that placing chairs on the temple's throne, displaying weapons, and recording videos is not only an insult to the faith of devotees but also a clear act of contempt of court. He asserted that this matter falls under the category of contempt of court, and strict action is essential in such cases to prevent similar incidents in the future and to establish the order as a precedent.
