Entertainment: The third installment of Bollywood's popular comedy franchise, "Welcome," titled "Welcome To The Jungle," had initially generated immense excitement. However, it is now embroiled in several controversies even before its release. This multi-starrer film, featuring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, and Disha Patani, is facing production challenges due to financial uncertainties and disorganization.
Shooting Incomplete After 18 Months
Reports suggest that approximately 18 months have passed since the film's commencement, yet only 50% of the shooting is complete. Announced in 2023, the film was slated for a Christmas 2024 release. However, with shooting yet to be finished, the possibility of a timely theatrical release is dwindling.
Sources indicate that frequently cancelled schedules are the biggest obstacle. In the last six months, two to three schedules have been cancelled at the last minute. A major June 2025 schedule was also cancelled, leaving the cast and crew frustrated and disgruntled.
Unpaid Fees and Growing Resentment
Non-payment of fees has emerged as a major issue. The film's technical crew and some actors are unhappy about outstanding payments. A key source stated, "Several actors committed their dates to 'Welcome To The Jungle,' but repeated schedule cancellations and non-payment of fees are causing justifiable frustration."
Some actors have left the project, while others remain, unwilling to abandon this prestigious franchise. However, dissatisfaction remains regarding the lack of clarity. An actor, speaking on condition of anonymity, commented, "Initially, everyone was enthusiastic about the project, but the uncertainty and instability have now soured the atmosphere."
Producers' Silence and Mounting Doubts
Producer Firoz Nadiadwala has yet to issue an official statement regarding these issues. The frequent halts in shooting and financial instability have fueled industry speculation about the viability of a commercially successful outcome for a high-budget comedy entertainer like "Welcome To The Jungle."
Director Ahmed Khan has successfully managed several major projects in the past, but the constantly changing circumstances and team discord have placed him in an uncomfortable situation.
