Aam Aadmi Party to Contest Bihar Assembly Elections. Arvind Kejriwal stated that there will be no alliance with any party now. The INDIA alliance was limited to the Lok Sabha elections only.
Bihar Election 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made it clear that his party will no longer form alliances with any other party. In a press conference held in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, Kejriwal announced that the Aam Aadmi Party will contest the Bihar Assembly elections and will fight the election independently. He stated that the INDIA alliance was limited to the Lok Sabha elections only and now has no relevance.
AAP to Contest Elections Alone in Bihar
Arvind Kejriwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party will now contest the Bihar Assembly elections. He said that the party has made a clear decision that it will not form an alliance with any party. Describing the INDIA alliance as irrelevant now, he said that it was formed only for the Lok Sabha elections, and now the AAP will enter the electoral arena on its own.
Attack on Both Congress and BJP in Gujarat
In the Ahmedabad press conference, Kejriwal targeted both the BJP and the Congress. He said that for the last 30 years, there has been a BJP government in Gujarat, but during this time, instead of development, the state has experienced corruption, unemployment, and mismanagement. He called the Surat floods a 'man-made disaster' and blamed the BJP for it.
Kejriwal said that the youth are not getting jobs, farmers do not even get fertilizers, and the government machinery has become completely corrupt. He claimed that the people of Gujarat are now fed up with the BJP, but the Congress has not been able to provide an alternative.
No Trust in Congress: Kejriwal
Kejriwal, calling the Congress the 'B-team' of the BJP, said that the public knows that the Congress is no longer an option. He said that many times, Congress leaders join the BJP after winning elections, which has broken the trust of the people. He said that in the Visavadar by-election, the Aam Aadmi Party contested separately from the Congress and won by three times the votes. This is proof that the people now need a new option, and that option is AAP.
Gujarat Jodo Abhiyan Launched
Arvind Kejriwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party is now starting the 'Gujarat Jodo Abhiyan' in Gujarat. This campaign will run for the next two and a half years, during which the party's goal is to reach every household at least five times. He said that if the youth want corruption-free and development-based politics, they should join the Aam Aadmi Party.
Kejriwal also spoke on Delhi and Punjab
On the question of defeat in Delhi, Kejriwal said that there are ups and downs in politics. He expressed confidence that the Aam Aadmi Party government would be formed again in Punjab because the party has worked on public interest issues there. He also mentioned the achievements of his government in Delhi, saying that the AAP has worked on issues like health, education, and electricity-water.
Reasons for Distance from the India Alliance
Kejriwal reiterated that the INDIA alliance has now become only a formal structure with no remaining political objective. He said that after the Lok Sabha elections, the lack of coordination, the ambiguity of the decision-making process, and the lack of unity in the INDIA alliance have weakened it. That is why the Aam Aadmi Party will not form an alliance with any party now.
Preparations to Contest Elections in Bihar Begin
According to sources, the Aam Aadmi Party has started the process of building a booth-level organization in some specific areas of Bihar. The party has given clear instructions to its workers to find honest and public-spirited candidates in Bihar and to go among the people and explain the party's policies.
