MP Kangana Ranaut's response after four days
After a silence of four days, Kangana Ranaut, MP from Mandi and a film actress, finally issued a statement regarding the flood-affected areas. Sharing a post on social media, she said that the natural disaster in Mandi district was heart-wrenching. She wrote that such events cause immense pain to the people of Himachal Pradesh every year.
Connectivity disrupted, visit plan postponed
Kangana Ranaut stated that she had tried to visit Seraj and other flood-affected areas. However, she was stopped due to bad weather and blocked road routes. She said that it could be risky to go to the area until the routes are fully restored and permission is obtained from the administration.
Leader of Opposition advised postponing the visit
In her post, Kangana also mentioned that the Leader of the Opposition and MLA of Seraj assembly constituency, Jairam Thakur, had suggested that it would not be appropriate to travel in the current situation. He said that she should wait until the connectivity routes are fully opened and the situation normalizes.
Assurance of all possible assistance to the affected people
Kangana Ranaut assured that as soon as she gets administrative permission and the weather is favorable, she will personally visit the affected areas to assess the situation of the relief work. She also said that she would work with the local administration to ensure that people receive all possible help.

The Mandi district administration has issued a red alert in view of the possibility of rain and landslides. The administration has appealed to people to stay in safe places and avoid unnecessary travel. Rescue operations have been accelerated, but it is still difficult to reach many villages.
