The victim has alleged that she was brutalized in the college campus for about three hours. The police, acting swiftly, have arrested a former student of the college and two employees within 48 hours. Initial investigations reveal that the main accused was associated with the college's student union and also has connections with the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
According to police sources, the arrested accused not only wielded influence within the college premises but was also known for his political clout in the area. The student was allegedly lured by the promise of a position and other advantages. Following the incident, an atmosphere of anger and fear prevails among the students. The police are interrogating the accused and examining the CCTV footage from the college campus. Questions are also being raised about the role of the college administration and the ruling party after the incident came to light.
What the State President of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad Said
Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) state president, Trinankur Bhattacharya, has responded to the gang-rape case of a female student at the Kolkata law college. He stated that he does not have complete information about the incident yet, but if the accused is found guilty, strict action will be taken against them, regardless of their political affiliation. Trinankur also acknowledged that the accused had been active in college activities, although he does not currently hold any position in the TMCP.
Meanwhile, several questions are being raised regarding the incident. According to the victim, the crime occurred between 7 p.m. and approximately 10:50 p.m. on June 25 within the college premises. In this context, the biggest question is, what was the student doing on campus so late, as most colleges in the state close after 5 p.m.? The police are now investigating this angle as well. Furthermore, questions are being raised regarding the supervision and responsibility of the college administration.
Lured with the Promise of a Position
Shocking revelations have emerged in the gang-rape case of a female student at the prestigious law college in Kolkata. According to police sources, the student was allegedly lured with the promise of becoming the General Secretary of the student council in the college. The victim stated that the accused, allegedly connected to the Trinamool Congress, lured her to the college campus with the false promise of a position and then raped her there.
The victim claims that when she resisted, the accused and his two accomplices forcibly dragged her into a room. The girl pleaded for mercy and also mentioned that she had a boyfriend, but the accused threatened to kill her. The police have registered a case under charges of gang rape, threats, and criminal conspiracy and arrested all three accused. Considering the seriousness of the case, the investigation has been expedited, and the college administration is also being questioned.
BJP Targets TMC
The incident of the gang-rape of a female student at the Kolkata law college has heated up the political atmosphere. BJP MP Samik Bhattacharya has directly targeted the Trinamool Congress regarding this matter. He said that the people accused are all connected to the TMC, which has revealed the true mentality of the party.
Samik Bhattacharya alleged that, “The entire Trinamool Congress is filled with such people. This incident is not just a failure of law and order, but a reflection of the ruling party’s mindset.” The BJP leader demanded that the accused be arrested as soon as possible and given the strictest possible punishment, so that justice can be served to the victim and a b message can be sent to society.
