To receive the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana, farmers must obtain a Farmer ID and complete their e-KYC by April 30th, 2025; otherwise, the next installment may be withheld.

PM Kisan Yojana: After receiving the 19th installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana), millions of farmers are now awaiting the 20th installment. However, if you are a beneficiary of this scheme, there's an important alert. The government has set April 30th, 2025, as the deadline to complete a crucial task. Failure to complete the process by the deadline may result in the withholding of your next installment.

What do farmers need to do?

The central government has clarified that it is mandatory for all beneficiary farmers to obtain a Farmer ID Card. This identity card will be used as a digital identity in the future, enabling direct access to government schemes. The Department of Agriculture has already sent SMS alerts to many farmers in this regard.

Where and how to obtain a Farmer ID Card?

To obtain a Farmer ID Card, farmers can contact their local Department of Agriculture, Revenue Department officials, or the nearest CSC center (Common Service Centre). This process can also be completed at special camps organized by the government.

The government intends to use this Digital Farmer Identity as a universal identifier, similar to Aadhaar, to ensure transparent disbursement of benefits through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Scheme objective and eligibility

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched in 2019 to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three installments directly into their bank accounts.

Will the next installment be received? How to check the status

Farmers can easily find out if they will receive the next installment:

- First, visit the pmkisan.gov.in website.

- Click on the "Farmers Corner" section.

- Select the "Beneficiary List" option.

- Fill in the state, district, block, and village panchayat information.

- You can now see which farmers in your area have received the installment.

e-KYC is mandatory

Completing e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) is crucial for the PM Kisan Yojana. Without e-KYC, your installment may be withheld.

Online e-KYC process:

- Visit the website and click on the "e-KYC" option.

- Enter your Aadhaar number and click "Search".

- An OTP will be sent; enter it and click "Submit".

If your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhaar, visit the nearest CSC center for Biometric Verification.

How to register?

If you haven't registered for the scheme yet:

1. Click on "New Farmer Registration".

2. Fill in the required information and documents.

3. After verification of your application, you will be included in the beneficiary list.
