Bhavnagar: A major tragedy was narrowly averted on Monday morning in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, when a fire suddenly broke out in a pathology lab located within a complex in the Kala Nala area. This complex is situated on Kalubhar Road, housing approximately 10 to 15 hospitals, clinics, shops, and offices. The flames, which erupted around 9 AM, caused chaos throughout the entire premises.
However, the reassuring news was that local residents, hospital staff, and the fire brigade acted swiftly, safely evacuating all patients and individuals present. The fire has now been completely brought under control.
Initial Situation of the Fire
In the morning hours, the presence of patients and staff in hospitals and labs is typically higher. Amidst this, smoke was seen rising from the complex's pathology lab, which quickly escalated into a fire. The smoke and flames spread so rapidly that people nearby immediately raised an alert. Flames were visible reaching upwards, causing panic among surrounding shopkeepers and the general public. Fire Department's Action
Upon receiving information about the fire, the fire brigade dispatched three fire tenders to the scene. Firefighters began extinguishing the blaze while securing the main part of the complex. It took time to bring the fire under control because numerous small cabins, lab equipment, and electrical connections were present inside, where the fire could spread rapidly. The team identified the center of the fire and brought the flames under control with the help of water supply and foam. Within a short period, the fire was contained to a limited area.
No Casualties
The greatest relief was that there were no fatalities or injuries in this incident. All patients, staff, children, elderly, and other individuals were evacuated in a timely manner. The local community played a crucial role in the rescue operation, providing significant assistance to the police and fire department. After the fire was extinguished, fire personnel carried out cooling operations throughout the complex to prevent a rekindling of the blaze.
