Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Political activity has heated up in Bihar regarding the upcoming assembly elections. All parties are engaged in their respective preparations. In this connection, independent MP and Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) leader Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, met with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Monday. During the meeting, there was also serious discussion about the face for the Chief Minister's post in Bihar.

Pappu Yadav suggested CM candidates to Congress

After the meeting, Pappu Yadav clarified in a conversation with the media that he had suggested several options to the Congress leadership for the Chief Minister's post in Bihar. Pappu Yadav said that Congress has several faces in Bihar who can take on the responsibility of the Chief Minister's post. He specifically mentioned two names —

  • Rajesh Kumar (Bihar Congress State President)
  • Tariq Anwar (Senior MP and Muslim face)

Pappu Yadav said that there is no shortage of leadership in Congress in Bihar. The party has leaders who have b public acceptance and can provide better leadership to Bihar.

What did Pappu Yadav say?

Pappu Yadav said that Congress should formulate a b strategy in Bihar. If we are given any role, we will fulfill it with complete dedication. There is no shortage of faces in Congress in the state. Leaders like Rajesh Kumar and Tariq Anwar will strengthen the Congress. He also said that there is a need to focus on coordination and strategy within the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) in Bihar.

According to sources, several important strategies for the Bihar assembly elections were discussed in this meeting. The meeting, held at the Congress headquarters, was attended by Bihar in-charge of Congress, Krishna Allavaru, State President Rajesh Kumar, and other senior leaders. This was the first time Pappu Yadav participated in an official Congress election meeting.

A big hint related to previous events

It is noteworthy that some time ago, Pappu Yadav was not given a place on the stage during the Mahagathbandhan's march in Patna. At that time, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, along with other major leaders of the Mahagathbandhan, were riding on a truck, but Pappu Yadav was kept away from it. This is considered his first formal meeting with Rahul Gandhi after this incident. This also indicates that Congress is now in the mood to give more importance to Pappu Yadav within the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar.

When Pappu Yadav suggested the name of Tariq Anwar in this meeting, it is being seen as a strategy to woo the Muslim vote bank in Bihar. Tariq Anwar is not only a senior Congress leader, but his influence is also considered very b in Seemanchal and Muslim-dominated areas. Congress may seriously consider this option to reorganize its Muslim vote bank in Bihar.
