The ruling party and the opposition came face to face in the Bihar Legislative Assembly's monsoon session after Tejashwi Yadav's sharp statement. The exchange of words escalated, leading to an uproar in the House.
Tejashwi Yadav Speech: The monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Thursday, July 24, was quite tumultuous. During the proceedings that began at 2 PM, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the ruling party, raising questions about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bihar and his speech. He stated that PM Modi spoke about the railway engine factory in Bihar but did not even mention Lalu Prasad Yadav, who laid its foundation.
Why was Lalu Yadav's Name Not Mentioned?
Tejashwi Yadav said that it was a good thing the Prime Minister came to Bihar, but what he said lacked truth. He spoke about the railway engine and its export but did not mention who started the railway factory in Bihar. Tejashwi claimed that it was Lalu Yadav who initiated this, and it is because of him that this industry is flourishing in Bihar today. His question was why the Prime Minister did not utter a single word of praise for Lalu Yadav.
Tejashwi Angered by BJP MLA's Comment
During Tejashwi's speech, BJP MLA and Chief Whip Janak Singh made a comment on him, which heated up the matter. In response, Tejashwi said, "If you speak too loudly, you'll get wet." Leaders of the ruling party were enraged by this statement, and there was an uproar in the House.
Heated Argument Between Samrat Choudhary and Tejashwi
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary attacked Tejashwi Yadav, saying, "How can someone whose father is a criminal do good for Bihar?" After this remark, the uproar escalated further, and the House proceedings were adjourned until 4 PM. However, the matter did not calm down even after the adjournment.
Situation Approached Fisticuffs in the House
Even though the House proceedings were adjourned, MLAs from BJP, JDU, and RJD got into a scuffle. Sloganeering and pushing and shoving ensued. Marshals had to intervene to control the situation.
Tejashwi Called NDA 'National Son-in-Law Commission'
During his speech in the House, Tejashwi Yadav took a jibe at the NDA, saying that it should now be called the 'National Son-in-Law Commission'. He alleged that relatives of leaders like Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Ashok Choudhary are being given positions in the central government. He said that all this is being done through the RSS quota. The Prime Minister does not see nepotism now, while he questions the opposition on the same issue. Tejashwi said that the public has the right to know which quota will come to the fore next.
Questions Raised on SIR Process
Tejashwi Yadav also put the SIR (Special Identification Register) process in the dock. He said that the entire process is not transparent. People do not have the documents that are being asked for. He alleged that the BLOs (Booth Level Officers) are only going through the motions, and the government is just trying to show that 99% of the verification work will be completed in 25 days.
