Controversy Erupts: Women's Commission Calls for Revocation of Chandra Shekhar Azad's Lok Sabha Membership

Chandra Shekhar Azad, Member of Parliament from the Nagina Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh and National President of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram), is currently embroiled in controversy.

Chandrashekhar Azad: A matter that is stirring up the politics of Uttar Pradesh has come to light. Serious allegations leveled against Chandra Shekhar Azad, Member of Parliament from the Nagina Lok Sabha constituency and National President of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram), by PhD scholar Dr. Rohini Ghawri have embroiled him in controversy. Following the allegations, the National Commission for Women took cognizance, and now the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women has also intervened in the matter.

Meenakshi Bharala, a member of the State Women's Commission, has recommended that Chandra Shekhar Azad's Lok Sabha membership be revoked. She stated that a person with such a disrespectful attitude towards women should not have the right to sit in the highest panchayat of the country.

Women's Commission made harsh comments

Speaking to the media in Meerut, Meenakshi Bharala said, "I myself saw some videos on social media in which Chandra Shekhar Azad was making a heart shape while crying. Such behavior does not befit a public representative. When a woman made serious allegations against him and he seemed to avoid answering instead of responding, it becomes even more suspicious."

She claimed that Dr. Rohini Ghawri has concrete evidence, on the basis of which the case appears not weak but serious. According to Meenakshi Bharala, the commission also spoke to several women from the Nagina area who did not consider Chandra Shekhar Azad's behavior appropriate.

Report sent to the National Commission for Women

The UP Women's Commission has also sent a detailed report of the entire matter to the National Commission for Women. Meenakshi Bharala said that if immediate action is not taken in such a case, it will send the wrong message. She said, "If such people remain in Parliament, the public's faith in democracy will weaken. Therefore, our clear demand is that Chandra Shekhar Azad's Lok Sabha membership be revoked immediately."

Chandra Shekhar Azad's troubles increased

In the complaint filed by Dr. Rohini Ghawri, serious allegations of emotional exploitation, deceit, and objectionable behavior have been leveled against Chandra Shekhar Azad. The complainant has also submitted several digital chats, call recordings, and videos to the National Commission for Women in support of her claims. This is why the State Women's Commission has also taken it seriously.

Turmoil in the political environment

Chandra Shekhar Azad is considered a prominent figure in Dalit politics and recently won the Nagina Lok Sabha seat and entered Parliament. These allegations against him have raised serious questions about his political career. Meanwhile, his party, the Azad Samaj Party, has said that all this is part of a well-thought-out conspiracy. Chandra Shekhar Azad is being framed. The truth will come out in the investigation.

However, opposition parties have targeted Azad over this issue. Local leaders of the Congress, Samajwadi Party, and BSP have said that if the allegations are so serious, Chandra Shekhar should resign on moral grounds.

The question of women's safety

After the demand of the Women's Commission, the debate has intensified that if public representatives who are themselves responsible for the dignity and safety of women get embroiled in such controversies, then both their credibility and the credibility of Parliament are tarnished. Meenakshi Bharala said, "If an example is not set in this matter, more people will do such acts in the future and get away with it. In such a situation, strict action is necessary."
