The buzz surrounding the Bihar Assembly elections is intensifying. Indications from the Election Commission suggest that polling could take place in the last week of October or the first week of November. The results are likely to be announced between November 10th and 12th. In light of this, political parties have ramped up their activity, with all parties throwing their full weight into the field to woo voters.
BJP leader and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has also marked his presence in this atmosphere by directly addressing the voters. He stated that the people of Bihar have many options, and it is now up to them to decide which ideology they want to see in power.
Chirag Paswan Praises Prashant Kishor
Chirag Paswan's statement is a topic of discussion in political circles, in which he openly praised Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor. Chirag said that Kishor is playing his role in the Bihar elections with utmost honesty and integrity. He also said that he appreciates everyone who rises above caste, religion, and creed and enters politics with the thought of improving the future of Bihar and its people.
Chirag says he likes Prashant Kishor's thinking and direction and accepts it with complete honesty. He described it as a positive initiative for the political environment of Bihar, which is trying to show a different path from caste-based politics.
Options for the Public
During a direct dialogue with the public, Chirag Paswan said that the greatest beauty of democracy is that people have many options to choose from. He said that anyone should choose whichever ideology they are attached to. As an example, he said that if you like the agenda of 'Bihar First, Bihari First', then vote in that direction.
Targeting Tejashwi Yadav's party RJD, Chirag said that if someone likes caste and communal politics, that is also an option. But if someone prioritizes a development-focused thinking for women and youth —MY—women and youth—then they should support him.
It is worth noting here that the MY equation is generally associated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), where M stands for Muslim and Y stands for Yadav. For years, it has been believed that the RJD has been doing politics of these two sections and focuses on them in the elections.
Attacking the Opposition on Voter List Verification
Chirag Paswan also took the opposition to task regarding the verification of the voter list in Bihar. He said that after the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition itself had complained to the Election Commission that there were irregularities in the voter list. He had written a letter to the commission citing Maharashtra. Now that the Election Commission has taken this matter seriously and decided to conduct a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, the opposition is objecting to this as well.
Chirag said that the commission's process is to ensure that no ineligible person is involved in voting. But the opposition is now opposing the same decision that it started itself. He described it as double standards and said that this attitude is not good for democratic processes.
