Political Experience and Journey So Far

Rajiv Bindal is among those leaders in Himachal Pradesh whose political experience has been deep and impactful. From 2002 to 2022, he was continuously elected as an MLA five times. Out of these, he won from the Solan assembly seat three times and from Nahan twice.

Between 2007 and 2012, when Prem Kumar Dhumal's government was in power in the state, Bindal was given the responsibility of Health Minister. After that, in 2018, he became the Speaker of the 13th Assembly and served in this position until January 2020.

In addition, he has also been the state BJP President once before. In April 2023, he was again given this responsibility, and now he has reached this position for the third time. This is a clear indication of how b his leadership and organizational skills are within the party.

Announcement of National Council Members

Along with Dr. Rajiv Bindal, the BJP has also announced eight new members of the National Council. These include former minister Govind Thakur, party general secretary Bihari Lal Sharma, Trilok Kapoor, Pawan Kajal, Rashmi Dhar Sood, Payal Vaidya, Rajiv Saizal, and Sanjeev Katwal. All these leaders have been selected based on their active contributions and leadership capabilities in the party organization.

List of Ex-officio Members Includes Many Prominent Names

It includes Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Lok Sabha MP Suresh Kashyap, actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami, Sikandar Kumar, and Harsh Mahajan. This appointment is considered significant in light of the recent power struggle with the Congress and the upcoming elections. This decision has brought enthusiasm among party workers, while for the opposition, it is a sign that the BJP is once again focused on strengthening its organizational structure.
