Gunfire Targets Gym in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar, No Injuries Reported

Late-night gunfire targeted a gym in the Paschim Vihar area of west Delhi, police said, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred between Monday and Tuesday night.

According to police, unidentified assailants opened fire outside RK Fitness Gym in Paschim Vihar late at night. The gym was closed at the time, and no one was inside when the shots were fired. Local residents alerted the police after hearing gunshots.

Police teams reached the spot shortly after receiving the information, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation in the vicinity. A forensic team was called to collect technical evidence, and one live cartridge was recovered from the scene and secured for investigation.

A few hours after the incident, a post surfaced on social media in which a person identifying himself as Randeep Malik claimed responsibility for the firing, stating that he was associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Following the post, police and intelligence agencies initiated verification procedures.

The social media post alleged that the gym owner had earlier received phone calls that were not answered and claimed the firing was carried out for that reason. The post also contained a warning of further consequences if future calls were ignored.

The post mentioned several criminal groups by name, including the Lawrence Bishnoi Group, Jitender Gogi Maan Group, Hashim Baba Group, and Kala Rana Group.

Police said they are examining CCTV footage from the area to trace the movements of the assailants before and after the firing. Statements are being recorded from local residents and shopkeepers.

Authorities said the authenticity of the social media post is under verification to determine whether it was made from a genuine account or a fake profile. The cyber cell has been involved to examine digital evidence related to the case.
