Students and teachers watched the live launch, transforming the environment into a ‘mini mission control center.’ The school administration decorated the premises with space-themed decorations and provided information related to space science to the children.
Memories of Childhood Revived

Before departing, Shubhanshu Shukla shared an emotional post on Instagram. He wrote, “As we prepare to leave Earth on June 25th, I would like to thank everyone involved in this mission. Especially, I would like to thank my wife, Kamana, for this being possible. Without you, it wouldn’t be possible, and more than that, it doesn’t matter.” He also posted a picture of him and his wife, both visibly moved during a farewell moment.
Children Create Space Models
The school children, on this special occasion, created space models and shared details with the media. The children expressed their desire to make India proud like Shubhanshu. The school management also provided the children with technical information about the mission, further boosting their enthusiasm and knowledge.
Father Expresses Pride
Shubhanshu’s father, Shambhu Dayal Shukla, stated, “This is a moment of pride not just for Lucknow, but for the entire India. Our son’s achievement is an inspiration for millions of young people. Our blessings will always be with him.”
A New Chapter for India in Space Missions
Shubhanshu Shukla has now become India’s first astronaut to reach the International Space Station through Axiom Space, a private company. This marks India’s second human spaceflight since the flight of Rakesh Sharma in 1984. This mission, unlike previous ones, is being undertaken through private partnership, signifying a new direction in space exploration.
