The two-day National Vice-Chancellors’ Conference at Amity University concluded on Tuesday with an inspiring address by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. Held on the occasion of the Indian University Association (AIU)’s 100th anniversary, the grand event brought together Vice-Chancellors from across the country.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Patel urged India to strive to become a developed nation and a global leader by 2047. She emphasized that universities should not merely issue degrees but also actively engage with the pressing issues facing society. Specifically, institutions should take a proactive role in areas such as education, malnutrition, sanitation, women’s empowerment, and healthcare.
The Governor appealed to students and faculty to work towards the betterment of society, stating that education’s true purpose is fulfilled only when it brings about positive change within the community. Concluding the event, she planted trees, conveying a message of environmental conservation.
The conference concluded in an inspiring atmosphere, with educational representatives from across the country brainstorming on how to make India self-reliant and prosperous.
What the Governor Said in Her Address
At the concluding ceremony of the National Vice-Chancellors’ Conference held at Amity University, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel emphasized the holistic development of students, stating that international agreements made by universities should not be limited to mere documents, but rather serve as a platform for the solid exchange of knowledge and experience among students.
She highlighted the importance of familiarizing students with India’s ancient scientific achievements and cultural heritage, enabling them to take pride in their past and confidently shape the future.
During the ceremony, Governor Patel also participated in planting trees under the ‘One Mother Tree’ initiative, conveying a message of environmental protection. She congratulated the Indian University Association (AIU) on its 100th anniversary and praised the educational and social contributions of Amity University’s Founder Chairman, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan. She noted that such institutions are also playing a pioneering role in fulfilling educational responsibilities alongside social ones, which is an inspiring initiative for the country.
Professors Expressed Gratitude to the Governor
The concluding ceremony of the two-day National Vice-Chancellors’ Conference held at Amity University saw the presence of academics and prominent guests from across the country. Amity’s Founder Chairman, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, expressed his gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, stating that today the entire world is looking towards India, and we must strive to make the country a global superpower by 2047.
AIU (Association of Indian Universities) President Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak described the Governor as a guiding force in the higher education sector, stating that under her leadership, continuous improvement and innovation have been possible in the education system. During the ceremony, a coffee table book dedicated to AIU’s 100 years of achievements was also unveiled.
The concluding ceremony was attended by District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, CEO of Noida Authority Dr. Lokesh M., Secretary General of AIU Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Executive Director of Amity University, Mr. Amol Chauhan, as well as Vice-Chancellors from various states and many prominent figures in the education sector.
