Notorious Criminal Arrested in Jhunjhunu: Disguised in Women's Clothing to Evade Police

Jhunjhunu police have arrested Rohit alias Monu, a notorious criminal carrying a reward of ₹5,000. The accused was wearing women's clothing and light makeup to evade arrest. Police apprehended him through technical surveillance and a blockade, and paraded him throughout the area.

Jhunjhunu: Rohit, a 19-year-old resident of Tola Sehi village in the Surajgarh police station area, who had a reward of ₹5,000 on his head, was absconding in connection with the daylight attack on Sarpanch Sandeep and his associate Devi Singh. Police, with the help of technical surveillance and informers, caught him near a riverbank dressed in women's attire. After the arrest, the accused was paraded in the same market where he had carried out the attack.

Trying to Mislead Police by Hiding in Women's Clothing

SP Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay said that the accused had been absconding for a long time and was roaming around in women's clothing to avoid arrest. When the police cordoned off the area, a girl was seen sitting by the river. When the police went closer and removed the veil, it turned out to be the same absconding criminal. According to the police, Rohit Monu was included in the list of top ten criminals and had 12 cases already registered against him.

After the arrest, the police paraded the accused in the same market where he had committed the crime. Locals were astonished to see the accused dressed in salwar-kurta and chunni. During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had adopted women's attire only to conceal his identity.

The Complete Truth of the Incident

On July 15, 2025, Sarpanch Sandeep Kumar and his associate were attacked near Raghunathpura toll in Surajgarh. The accused repeatedly rammed the Sarpanch's car with pickup trucks, Campers, and Bolero vehicles, and attacked them with sticks and iron rods. Police believe that the attack was carried out under pressure to compromise in an old dispute.

Eight other accused involved in this attack had already been arrested, but Rohit alias Monu was absconding. His plan to hide in women's clothing challenged the police for several days.

Arrest with Technical and Local Assistance

SP Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay said that the station officer Dharmendra Kumar Meena and the AGTF Chirawa team continuously put pressure and traced the accused through technical surveillance. Rohit was caught from the Johad area of Tola Sehi based on information from informers and continuous surveillance in the area.

Police say that this arrest has proved that no matter how clever a criminal may be, the grip of the law always remains b. Even a cunning criminal roaming around in women's clothing could not escape the clutches of the law.

Criminal Record of the Accused

The SP said that Rohit alias Monu has a long criminal history. There are 12 cases already registered against him, including offenses such as assault, attempted murder, and intimidation. Police are now interrogating the accused about his accomplices and network so that the remaining members of the gang can also be caught.
