Kapil Sharma Targeted: Khalistani Terrorist Pannun Threatens Comedian After Cafe Shooting

After the firing at Kapil Sharma's cafe in Canada, Khalistani terrorist Pannun threatened him. Pannun alleged that Kapil was spreading the Hindutva agenda. The Indian government has already declared Pannun a terrorist and 104 cases are registered against him.

Kapil Sharma: Indian comedian Kapil Sharma, residing in Canada, is once again in the headlines, but this time the reason is not his humor, but a serious security threat. The opening of his new cafe, Kap's Cafe, in Surrey, British Columbia, was followed by a shooting by unknown attackers, causing a stir both domestically and internationally. A new turn in this whole episode came when Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the head of the banned Khalistani organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), openly threatened Kapil Sharma and accused him of spreading the 'Hindutva agenda'.

Kapil Not Scared of Firing, but Investigation Intensifies

Kapil Sharma opened Kap's Cafe in Surrey on July 4, 2025. However, on the night of July 10, some unknown attackers fired at his cafe. Although there were no reports of casualties, the seriousness of the attack has alerted the local police of Canada and Indian security agencies. Canadian police have started an investigation with the help of CCTV footage and eyewitnesses. According to preliminary information, two individuals, Harjit Singh Laddi and Tufan Singh, who are linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), have claimed responsibility for this attack. BKI is a banned terrorist organization, which the Canadian government also considers a terrorist organization.

Pannun's Video Threat: 'Stop Spreading Hindutva!'

After this attack, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video and openly threatened Kapil Sharma. He said: 'Canada is not your playground. Take your hard-earned money and go back to India. Is your cafe a comedy hub or a conspiracy to spread Hindutva?'

This statement makes it clear that Pannun is viewing Kapil Sharma's popularity and his business through the lens of a Khalistani mindset. He is trying to portray Kapil's cafe not just as a commercial establishment, but as a 'Hindutva propaganda center'.

Indian Government's Eyes on Pannun

It is noteworthy that Pannun was declared a 'designated terrorist' by the Indian government in 2019. His organization, SFJ, is banned in India and has been outlawed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). A total of 104 cases are registered against Pannun in India, most of which are being investigated by the NIA and state police agencies. According to the NIA, the aim of SFJ and Pannun is to create unrest in India, mislead the youth and lead them towards a radical ideology, and fuel separatist activities in Punjab and several other states.

Is Kapil Sharma a Target of Political Conspiracy?

Kapil Sharma is an artist who has won the hearts of millions through comedy. He has had no direct connection with politics. In such a situation, the question arises – are Khalistani organizations now trying to promote their hateful ideology by targeting any popular person of Indian origin? Such violence and threats after opening a cafe indicate that the activities of Khalistani organizations are no longer limited to Punjab or India, but efforts are continuing on a global platform to affect Indian citizens and their businesses.
