Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 League 2025 Auction: Devdutt Padikkal Top Bid, Samit Dravid Unpicked

The player auction for the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 League 2025 witnessed several surprising outcomes this time. While some players were bought for hefty sums, Samit Dravid, son of former Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid, was not selected by any franchise.

Sports News: The auction for the Maharaja Trophy T20 League 2025, organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), has concluded. This year's auction saw a lot of money spent on big names, while Samit Dravid, son of former Indian cricket team veteran Rahul Dravid, was not included in any team by any franchise. This news was somewhat shocking for Samit Dravid's fans as he had played in the tournament last time.

Devdutt Padikkal Becomes the Most Expensive Player

In this year's auction, India's young and talented batsman Devdutt Padikkal proved to be the most expensive player. The Hubli Tigers franchise included Padikkal in their team for ₹13.20 lakh. Padikkal has already made a name for himself with his batting in the IPL and is now expected to perform bly in this league as well.

Why Didn't Samit Dravid Get Picked?

Samit Dravid was a part of the Mysore Warriors team in the previous season and was bought for ₹50,000. However, his name was missing from the final list in this auction. There were initial reports that Samit would be placed in Category C (Junior State Player), but the absence of his name in the final list made it clear that he was not given a place in the auction this time.

According to sources, Samit Dravid was selected for the Indian Under-19 team's tour of Australia, but he was ruled out due to injury. It is likely that this is why his name did not appear for the auction this time. However, fans seemed a little disappointed with this decision because expectations are always high from people from the Dravid family.

Other High-Profile Players Who Received Big Bids

Several other players also received hefty amounts in the auction. The most talked-about names included:

  • Manish Pandey: Experienced batsman Manish Pandey was bought by the Mysore Warriors for ₹12.20 lakh.
  • Abhinav Manohar: Abhinav, who gained attention for his batting in the IPL, was added to the Hubli Tigers team for ₹12.20 lakh.
