Currently, the Kiwi team is engaged in a five-match T20 series against West Indies, after which both teams are scheduled to play the ODI series, followed by a three-match Test series.

Matt Henry's Fitness and Stellar Return

This series is considered special for fast bowler Matt Henry, as he was sidelined from the team due to a calf strain during the previous ODI series against England. He has completed his rehabilitation program over the past few months and is now fully fit, poised to make his return to the team.

Henry stated that he was eagerly awaiting this opportunity. According to him, “Stepping back onto the field for the country is always a moment of pride, especially when you are returning after an injury.

Williamson Rested from ODIs, Focus on Test Preparation

Meanwhile, former New Zealand team captain Kane Williamson has not been included in the squad for this ODI series. According to the board, he has been rested to prepare for the upcoming Test series. The team management believes that Williamson's role will be decisive in the Test series scheduled for early December, making it essential to provide him with ample preparation time.

Coach Rob Walter stated, "Kane is one of our most experienced players. Resting him is a strategic decision to ensure he can approach the Test series against West Indies with full energy."

Walter remarked, "Matt Henry is one of our most reliable bowlers. He possesses the ability to generate brilliant swing with the new ball and is proficient at taking wickets in the middle overs. His return to fitness will bolster our bowling attack.”
