Actor Nikki Tamboli has issued a public warning after her name and identity were allegedly misused in an online scam attempt.
Tamboli shared a post on Instagram informing fans, close associates and members of the entertainment industry that an unknown individual is using her name and photographs to contact people through a fake number.
Public Warning Issued on Instagram
In her Instagram post, Tamboli shared details of the fake number and related chat activity. She stated that an unidentified person is messaging individuals while impersonating her.
In the post, she wrote: “Someone is using my name and picture to message people from a fake number. This is not me. Please do not entertain this person. Do not reply. This could be a scam. Please report and block this number.”
Tamboli clarified that any messages sent from the number in question are not associated with her and warned that individuals responding to such messages could be exposed to fraud.
Details of the Alleged Impersonation
According to Tamboli, the fake number and social media account are being used to approach her close friends and fans in an attempt to obtain financial or personal information. Such scams typically involve demands for money, fabricated project offers or fake competitions designed to deceive recipients.
She advised people to remain cautious, avoid responding to suspicious messages and report and block the number involved.

Tamboli is currently appearing in the reality show “The 50.” She earlier participated in “Celebrity MasterChef” and gained wider recognition through her appearance on “Bigg Boss 14.”
