Operation Sindoor: Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army has taken a decisive and impactful step against terror. On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh shared a detailed account of this military operation in the Lok Sabha, explaining how over 100 terrorists were neutralized by targeting 9 terrorist hideouts in 22 minutes. This action was not just a military operation, but a clear expression of India's anti-terrorism policy.
Discussion Begins Amidst Opposition Uproar
The discussion on Operation Sindoor was scheduled to begin at 12 noon, but proceedings in the Lok Sabha had to be adjourned three times due to the opposition's uproar. Eventually, the Defence Minister initiated the debate at 2 pm. In his address, he clarified that this operation was not merely a reaction but a message that India is capable and willing to take stringent measures to protect its borders and citizens.
Precise Action Against Terrorists
Rajnath Singh stated that during the operation, hideouts of organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were identified and precisely targeted. India's strategy was clear—to destroy only terrorist bases without harming Pakistani civilians. The terrorists neutralized in the operation were active as trainers, planners, and attackers.
Air Defence System Proved Its Strength
Regarding the retaliatory action taken by Pakistan, the Defence Minister said that India's air defence system proved to be impenetrable. He stated that the S-400 missile system, Akash missile, air defence guns, anti-drone technology, and electronic jamming equipment thwarted every enemy attack. Pakistan was unable to penetrate a single target, and no strategic asset of India was damaged.
Objective and Success of the Operation
The Defence Minister also informed the Lok Sabha that the objective of the operation was to eliminate terrorist hideouts and demonstrate the firmness of India's security policy. He said that it was not just an armed response but a strategic message that India would not tolerate any terrorist activity. India's armed forces completed all assigned targets in 22 minutes and proved their strategic capability against terrorism to the world.
Safety of Citizens Paramount
Rajnath Singh said that the government's priority was to ensure that no Pakistani civilians were harmed. With this objective, precise and limited action was taken. He stated that PM Modi had given full freedom to the armed forces, but even then, the operation was carried out in such a way that only terrorist hideouts were destroyed.
