Playing the Role of ACP Was Challenging
Parth Samthaan admitted that initially, he refused the role. He said he couldn't connect with the character. "I was hesitant because this role was completely outside my comfort zone. I felt uncomfortable with senior actors calling me 'sir'. But when the makers asked me to reconsider, I took it as a challenge," Parth said in an interview.
He added, "I was afraid that the fans wouldn't accept me, especially since I was playing a character that people idealize as Shivaji sir."
From Trolling to Audience Love
CID has a huge legacy. Running for over 20 years, the show holds a special place in the hearts of viewers. Therefore, when a new face was introduced as ACP, some negative reactions on social media were expected. Parth said, "I've been a fan of Shivaji sir myself. When I was trolled, it felt bad, but I understood it and didn't take it seriously. I'm glad that gradually, those same viewers started accepting me and appreciating my performance."
Parth mentioned that he recently shot some episodes with Shivaji Satam, which was like working with a guru. "Seeing Shivaji sir's dedication and energy at the age of 75 was incredible. He's truly an inspiration. Being in the same frame with him is one of the biggest achievements of my career," Parth said.
