Rahul Gandhi Attacks Bihar Government, Calls State 'Crime Capital' Ahead of Elections

The political climate in Bihar is steadily heating up in anticipation of the upcoming assembly elections later this year. The opposition is consistently targeting the Nitish Kumar-BJP coalition government, focusing on issues of law and order and the special revision of the voter list.

New Delhi: The political temperature is continuously rising in Bihar ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for this year. While the ruling NDA (National Democratic Alliance) coalition is highlighting its achievements, the opposition is adopting an aggressive stance against the government, focusing on issues such as law and order, unemployment, and the special revision of the voter list. In this context, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a sharp attack on the Bihar government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Rahul Gandhi criticized the NDA government over the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar, stating that Bihar has become the 'Crime Capital of India'. Accusing the government on his official X (Twitter) handle, Rahul Gandhi said that the NDA is pushing unemployed youth towards crime and that government ministers are involved in corruption.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?

Rahul Gandhi said, "There is fear in every street and anxiety in every home in Bihar. The NDA government is turning unemployed youth into criminals. The Chief Minister is busy saving his chair and BJP ministers are taking commissions." Mentioning the ongoing criminal incidents in Bihar in his post, Rahul Gandhi said that law and order in Bihar has completely collapsed. He wrote that this time, the people of Bihar will vote not just to change the government, but to save Bihar.

Rahul Gandhi made serious allegations

The Congress leader said that the situation in Bihar has become so bad that ordinary people feel insecure. Incidents of theft, murder, robbery, kidnapping, and rape are occurring every day. Rahul alleged that unemployed youth are being pushed down the wrong path, for which the Nitish Kumar and BJP government of the state is directly responsible.

He said that the NDA government is unable to provide employment, but the crime network is growing. He also took a dig at Nitish Kumar, saying that the Chief Minister is engrossed in saving his chair and BJP leaders are busy with scams.

Attacked before as well

This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has called Bihar the 'Crime Capital'. Earlier too, Rahul Gandhi has raised the issue of crime and unemployment in Bihar from various platforms. He had alleged that in Bihar, under the NDA rule, the youth have neither the opportunity for education nor any means of employment. Rahul Gandhi says that when employment is not available, the youth will be pushed towards crime and this is what is happening in Bihar. He said that this time, the people of Bihar have to be aware because this election is not just about a change of power, but about saving Bihar from crime and unemployment.

NDA's counter-attack

The leaders of the NDA coalition have retaliated against Rahul Gandhi's attack. A BJP spokesperson said that Rahul Gandhi does not have information about the history and law and order of Bihar. He said that under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, there is strict control over crime in Bihar and law and order has improved. Counter-attacking Rahul Gandhi, the NDA leaders said that the Congress itself is mired in corruption and criminal cases, so they have no right to question Bihar.
