Raipur Court Declares Tomar Brothers Fugitives, Property Seizure Looms

In Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, the notorious Tomar Brothers—Virendra Tomar and Rohit Tomar—who are embroiled in serious cases of usury, blackmail, and illegal extortion, once again failed to appear in court. Taking a strict stance on this absence, the Raipur court has declared both of them as fugitives. The court, after hearing the police's plea, issued a proclamation and warned them, giving them a final opportunity until July 18. It stated that if they fail to appear, proceedings to seize their property would be initiated.

More Than 66 Cases Registered

According to the Raipur Police, Virendra and Rohit Tomar have been absconding for the past 44 days, and more than 66 criminal cases have been registered against them. These cases include offenses such as usury, assault, threats, blackmailing, violations of the Arms Act, and illegal extortion. The police say that arrest warrants had already been issued, and notices to appear in court on July 14 were also delivered to both their residences, yet both remained absent.

Several Family Members in Jail

Several members of the Tomar family have already been arrested by the police for their illegal activities. These include a daughter-in-law, a nephew, a disabled member, two lawyers, and two employees, all of whom have been sent to judicial custody. Furthermore, Rohit Tomar's wife, Bhavna Tomar, was also arrested on Tuesday. Police say that Bhavna was in constant contact with her husband but concealed this information. Moreover, evidence has been found that Bhavna herself played an active role in the usury and blackmail racket.

In addition, the police have found a Jaguar car belonging to the Tomar Brothers abandoned in the Vidhan Sabha police station area of Raipur, which has been seized. The recovery of this vehicle is expected to provide information about the whereabouts and network of the absconding accused.

Questions Raised About Protection

In this entire case, questions are now being raised about who is protecting the Tomar Brothers. Sources claim that some leaders from the ruling party and a senior IPS officer are protecting the absconding accused in exchange for a large sum of money. Following this allegation, the political climate has heated up.

The Congress has launched a scathing attack on the government. Party leaders allege that the Tomar Brothers, who came from Rajasthan, are economically and mentally exploiting the citizens of Chhattisgarh, and the BJP government is openly protecting them. The Congress also says that the BJP has become an accomplice of criminals and is weakening the justice system.

Arrest Becomes the Biggest Challenge for Police

The arrest of the Tomar brothers has now become the biggest challenge for the Raipur police. Despite the court's strict stance, both accused are still at large. In such a situation, the entire state is now watching to see whether the police will be able to arrest them before July 18 or whether the court will have to proceed with the seizure of their properties.

New developments are emerging every day in this high-profile case, and there is a possibility that even bigger revelations will come to light in the coming time. The entire state is now focused on the next actions of the police and the court.
