Rishi Kapoor was among Bollywood’s veteran actors, while his son Ranbir Kapoor followed in his father’s footsteps and established a distinct identity in the film industry.
The Kapoor family is regarded as one of the most prominent film families in the Hindi film industry, with several generations establishing their identities in acting. However, Riddhima Kapoor, the daughter of late actor Rishi Kapoor and actress Neetu Kapoor, chose a career path different from that of her parents and younger brother Ranbir Kapoor.
She stayed away from films for a long period and established herself in the fields of fashion and jewellery designing. Despite coming from a film family, Riddhima entered the world of acting at around the age of 45.
Riddhima Kapoor was born on September 15, 1980, while her younger brother Ranbir Kapoor was born on September 28, 1982. Riddhima is therefore around two years older than Ranbir.
Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor married in 1980, and Riddhima and Ranbir were born later. Ranbir Kapoor entered Bollywood as a lead actor in 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film 'Saawariya'.

He subsequently established his identity through films including 'Rockstar', 'Barfi!', 'Tamasha', 'Sanju' and 'Brahmastra'. Riddhima, meanwhile, chose a different professional path, focusing on jewellery designing and business instead of films and glamour.
Riddhima Kapoor focused on jewellery designing and business rather than making acting her career. She launched a jewellery brand under her own name and gradually established herself in the fashion industry.
Despite belonging to a film family, she remained away from the camera for a long period and focused on her business. She chose jewellery designing according to her interests and worked in the field of entrepreneurship.
Riddhima Kapoor entered the field of acting in 2026. She was seen acting in the film 'Dadi Ki Shaadi', which was released in May 2026. She played the character of Sunaina in the film.
The project also featured her mother Neetu Kapoor and actor-comedian Kapil Sharma in important roles.
Riddhima Kapoor married businessman Bharat Sahni in 2006. After their marriage, the couple became parents to a daughter named Samaira Sahni.
Riddhima remained associated with her family and business activities in Delhi for a long period. She first established her career in business and designing before entering the entertainment industry.
