Mohan Bhagwat’s Statement
During the RSS centenary celebrations in Delhi, Mohan Bhagwat said that the Sangh does not believe in attacking any person or organization on religious grounds. He clarified that religion is a matter of personal choice and there should be no coercion or temptation in it. Bhagwat said,
'Islam has been in this country since the first day it arrived, and it will remain. There should be a belief in equality and coexistence between both communities. Hindu thought is not such that it aims to eliminate anyone. The conflict will end only when this belief is formed that we are all one.'
This statement also conveys the message that all religions should be given equal space in India’s diversity and maintaining a spirit of coexistence is essential for society.
