Shweta Tripathi: Shweta Tripathi, known as Golu from Mirzapur, has added a new chapter to her career. Recently, while Pankaj Tripathi produced the Perfect Family series, Shweta Tripathi has now ventured into the world of production with the horror film 'Nawa'. This is her first horror project under her banner, Bhaandafull Films, being created in collaboration with Kovatanda Films India.
'Nawa' is Shweta's second production venture. Prior to this, she produced the Tillotama Shome-starrer queer drama 'Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan'. This move by Shweta clearly demonstrates her commitment to promoting bold, original, and culturally rich stories.
The Story of Nawa
The film 'Nawa' is based on the dangerous and beautiful wetlands of the Sundarbans. The protagonist, Tara, returns to her ancestral home, where she finds herself entangled amidst river deities, family secrets, and age-old myths. This film presents a unique blend of fear, folklore, and emotional depth.
Scriptwriter Akash Mohimen has crafted a unique cinematic experience by weaving together folklore and horror elements with emotional layers in the film.

Shweta stated, "As a producer, 'Nawa' is a very special step for me. After 'Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan', I felt a desire to explore a different emotional world. The horror genre, especially when it is woven with folklore and cultural elements, leaves a profound impact on the audience." She further added,
'The Sundarbans in this story is not just a backdrop; it is alive, it breathes, it protects and it also frightens. When Akash narrated the script to me, I was deeply impacted by its beauty, fear, and soul. As a producer, I want to support stories that take creative risks and linger in the audience's minds long after the film concludes.'
Shweta described the partnership with Kovatanda Films India for 'Nawa' as a perfect collaboration, stating that both teams share a similar passion for storytelling.
Shweta's New Mission in Production
With 'Nawa', Shweta is stepping further into the world of production. Her mission is to champion genre-driven and character-led Indian stories. She challenges conventional storytelling methods and celebrates authenticity and originality. Shweta's initiative demonstrates that young and talented artists in the Indian film industry are now expanding their footprint not only in acting but also in the realm of production. Her projects offer audiences fresh experiences from both cinematic and cultural perspectives.
