Bollywood actor Triptii Dimri has spoken about the online trolling and criticism she faced following her role in the 2023 film Animal, saying that while she often tries to appear b, negative comments can have an emotional impact.
Triptii, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Maa Behan, discussed the reactions she received after Animal in an interview with India Today. The blockbuster film brought her widespread recognition and significantly raised her profile, but it also led to criticism and trolling related to her character and intimate scenes in the film.
She acknowledged that criticism affects her at times and said that although she tells herself she can ignore it, some remarks can still be hurtful. According to Triptii, the film she is most proud of became the one for which she was judged the most, making the experience difficult for her.
Triptii said she is proud of all her projects, including Bulbbul, Qala, and Animal. She stated that every professional decision she has made was taken with her full consent and comfort. She also said that women are often judged quickly based on their work, which she considers unfair.
According to her, it is disappointing when women are judged because of the work they do, adding that people often rush to conclusions and that female artists are frequently singled out.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal starred Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The film emerged as a major box-office success and brought Triptii widespread recognition despite her relatively small role. Following the film’s success, her popularity grew rapidly on social media, although she also faced criticism related to her role and certain scenes.
Triptii is now preparing for the release of Maa Behan, in which she will appear in a new role. The film also features Madhuri Dixit and Ravi Kishan in significant roles. The film will be released directly on Netflix and will be available for streaming from June 4.
