Trump Renames US Department of Defense to Department of War

President Donald Trump signed a significant executive order on Friday. Under this order, a new ministry has been established in America, named the “Department of War”.

Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again stirred up global politics. On Friday, he signed a major executive order, renaming the US “Department of Defense” to the “Department of War”. Trump claims that this change will symbolize America’s power, victory, and a stringent military policy.

Not Defense, but War - Trump’s Clear Message

In his address, Trump stated, “I believe this change sends a message of victory, a message of strength.” He described the word “defense” as “woke” and said it was time for America to redefine its military identity. According to him, the “Department of War” will symbolize America’s military capability and aggressive strategy, sending a clear message to the world that America is capable of responding to any threat.

Following this order, the official name of the Ministry of Defense has changed. The Pentagon’s website address has been changed from “defense.gov” to “war.gov”. New stationery, logos, and office boards for the ministry are being prepared. Along with this, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has started being referred to as the “Secretary of War”. Hegseth said, “We will now adopt not just defensive, but offensive strategies. Our goal is to operate with maximum lethality, even if it may not seem politically correct.”

Congressional Approval Required, Yet Trump is Confident

Trump stated that this change will soon receive congressional approval. He said, “We will implement it as it was before. I am fully confident that Congress will support it.” However, under the US Constitution, congressional approval is necessary to change the name of a ministry. In this regard, Trump-backed Representative Greg Steube (Florida) and Senators Rick Scott (Florida) and Mike Lee (Utah) have introduced a bill.

Steube said, “From 1789 until World War II, America fought wars under the name ‘Department of War’. It would be appropriate for us to honor their extraordinary commitment and re-establish this name.”

The Trump administration has already made several changes to its military policy. These include a ban on LGBTQ+ soldiers, the removal of certain aspects related to women and minorities, and the renaming of military bases named after Confederate generals. Trump claims that peace has been maintained due to his tough policies. He said, “We have peace because we are b.”

He also claimed to have played a role in mediating reconciliation between India-Pakistan, Rwanda-Congo, and Armenia-Azerbaijan. Furthermore, he stated that he wants to bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war soon.
