A special court in Prayagraj rejected the bail plea of Umar Ahmed, eldest son of Atiq Ahmed, in the Umesh Pal murder case. The court denied bail considering the seriousness of the crime.
Prayagraj: The Special SC/ST Act Court in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj district rejected the bail application of Mohammad Umar Ahmed, eldest son of gangster Atiq Ahmed. Umar is currently incarcerated in Lucknow Jail and faces serious allegations of conspiring in the Umesh Pal murder case. The court denied bail based on the nature and gravity of the crime. Previously, the bail plea of Atiq's other son, Ali Ahmed, was also rejected.
Umar's Arguments in Bail Plea and Court's Order
Umar's lawyers argued that he was incarcerated in Lucknow Jail at the time of the murder, thus there was no basis for a conspiracy. The lawyers claimed that the police had framed charges under a conspiracy.
However, the government counsel bly opposed this. They informed the court that granting bail would not be appropriate given the seriousness of the crime. The court stated in its order that bail cannot be granted considering the nature of the crime, the evidence, and its potential impact on society.
