UP ATS Uncovers Illegal Conversion Ring with ISI Links, Government Officials Involved

The UP ATS has taken major action against Changur's illegal conversion ring. The investigation has revealed the involvement of four government officials. The ring's network was spread across several states, and contact with ISI has also been confirmed.

Changur Action: The Uttar Pradesh ATS has intensified its investigation against Changur alias Jalaluddin, the mastermind of the illegal conversion ring, and his associate Neetu alias Nasreen. Both were taken into custody by the ATS on July 10 and are now nearing the end of their remand period. The ATS will present both of them in the Lucknow court today and seek to extend their remand.

Role of four officials revealed

The investigation has revealed that four government officials also played a significant role in expanding Changur's network. These include one ADM, two COs, and one Inspector who were posted in Balrampur between 2019 and 2024. The investigating agency has found evidence against these officials that proves they were working at Changur's behest. The ATS is now planning action against all of them.

An army of followers was created for conversion

The interrogation also revealed that Changur was working to spread conversions across the country. He had created an army of about 3000 followers who were active in different states. Their job was to use Hindu names to trap young women in love and then pressure them to convert.

The ring's network spread across many states

Changur's network was spread across Uttar Pradesh, as well as West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. The members of this ring blended into society like ordinary citizens and then collected information about their targets and passed it on to Changur.

Responsibility given to son, Mahboob

Changur had given the responsibility of the conversion campaign to his son, Mahboob. Mahboob was the leader of the entire campaign and kept an eye on all the activities. Another member, Naveen, was assigned for technical support. A team of the ring was dedicated to collecting information about Hindu girls.

Claim of contact with ISI

The most serious aspect is that the investigation has also indicated that the Changur ring was in contact with Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. It is reported that the ring operated its operations from Nepal and was connected to the ISI from there.

The ring was working with a planned strategy

According to the evidence received by the ATS, this ring worked in a planned manner. Each member was assigned a specific task. Someone collected technical information, someone monitored the target, and someone carried out the conversion process. The ring's objective was to increase the Muslim population across the country and weaken the social structure.

Assistance was received from the government system

The investigation has also made it clear that Changur received support from some people in the government system. The four officials posted in Balrampur not only ignored this campaign but also helped Changur many times. This has made the matter even more sensitive.
