UP News: Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government has declared a significant gift for students before the Navratri festival. This time, the government has advanced the scholarship distribution schedule, directly benefiting over 3.95 lakh students. For the first time, this scheme will commence in September, whereas previously it used to be implemented only from December.
Students to Receive Stipend During Navratri
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that this Navratri, students from pre-10th (Class 9-10) and post-10th (Class 11-12) will receive scholarship benefits. The stipend distribution for the current academic session will begin on September 26. Under this scheme, the amount will be sent directly to the students' bank accounts.
During a ceremony at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the Chief Minister will directly provide benefits to 1,500 beneficiaries. This will foster an atmosphere of enthusiasm and joy among students and their families.
Three Departments to Implement the Scheme Collaboratively
The Backward Classes Welfare Department, Minority Welfare Department, and Social Welfare Department will work together to operate the scholarship scheme. The objective of this special scheme is to bring uniformity across all scholarship programs. The three departments have prepared a coordinated program to ensure early distribution.
Previously, the first phase of this scheme was slated for Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. However, under the revised schedule this time, it is being launched from September 26.
Scholarship Distribution and Beneficiary Categories
This time, the scholarship scheme includes all applications received by September 7 for pre-10th and post-10th students. In the first phase, a total of 3,95,646 students will receive benefits.
Beneficiaries will include 2,60,646 students from the Backward Classes, while the remaining students will belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities, and Economically Weaker Sections.
At the start of the scholarship distribution, 1,500 students will receive direct benefits. In the second phase, the remaining students will be paid their scholarships by December 31. Students who missed out in the first phase will also be included in the second phase.
Direct Benefits for Students from Scholarships
The objective of the scholarship scheme is to provide continuity in education for economically weaker students. Under this scheme, the stipend is sent directly to the student's bank account, providing financial assistance to their families as well.
This scheme allows students to focus on their education and needs, while their families are freed from financial burden. This will particularly provide equal opportunities in education to students from Backward Classes, Minorities, and economically disadvantaged sections.
Early Distribution to Enhance Impact
This time, scholarship distribution is being carried out earlier, which will provide timely assistance to students for educational materials, books, and other necessities. This will make the scheme's impact more widespread and positive.
The Yogi government has stated that improvements in scholarship distribution and timely payments will boost student morale. This is expected to yield better results in the education sector in the coming years.
Efforts for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare
Narendra Kashyap, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes Welfare, informed that special attention has been given to students from Backward Classes and Minority categories in this scheme. This step is an effort to provide equal opportunities in education and to uplift children from the backward sections of society.
