Due to the release of over three lakh cusecs of water from the Hathnikund Barrage, there is a looming threat of floods in the capital. Minister Pravesh Verma informed that the river's water level may cross the danger mark late tonight. The government has issued a high alert regarding this situation and is monitoring every step.

Minister Pravesh Verma said that the residents of Delhi need not panic. The Chief Minister and the entire government are continuously monitoring the situation. He mentioned that the administration's teams are active on the ground and are fully prepared to handle any emergency situation.
Alert in Surrounding Areas
The water released from the Hathnikund Barrage is expected to reach Delhi in 48 to 60 hours. If the water flow is high, it could even enter Delhi within 24 hours. In view of this, an alert has been issued in the areas along the river banks, and the people residing there have been moved to safer locations.
The Delhi government has taken all necessary measures to prevent floods. Administration teams, disaster management units, and rescue workers are fully prepared. The government has clarified that the situation is being closely monitored and all possible steps will be taken for the safety of the people.
