Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Approves 19 Proposals: Wheat Support Price Fixed at ₹2425/Quintal, Land Allotted to Medical-Nursing Colleges, Green Signal for Agra Metro, Major Changes in Stamp System, and Boost for Industrial Development.

UP Cabinet: The Uttar Pradesh state cabinet meeting was held on Monday, March 10, at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The meeting approved a total of 19 proposals. Following the meeting, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna addressed a press conference, outlining the key decisions.

Major Decision on Wheat Support Price

To provide relief to farmers, the state government has fixed the support price for wheat procurement at ₹2425 per quintal. Under this, 6500 procurement centers will be established from March 17, 2025, to June 15, 2025, where wheat will be purchased from farmers.

Significant Decisions Regarding Medical and Nursing Colleges

Several important decisions were taken to improve medical education in the state:

- A proposal to transfer land free of cost to the Medical Education Department for the construction of a medical college in Ballia has been approved.
- The proposal to transfer land free of cost for the construction of a nursing college in Bulandshahr has also been approved.
- The revised project proposal for a 300-bed gynecology department and a 100-bed pediatrics department at the Uttar Pradesh Ayurvedic University in Saifai (Etawah) has been approved.

Green Signal for Agra Metro Rail Project

Two important proposals under the Agra Metro project have been approved:

- Land belonging to the Horticulture and Food Processing Department will be transferred free of cost to the Housing and Urban Planning Department.
- The proposal to transfer land belonging to the Home Department free of cost for the metro depot of the second corridor of the Agra Metro has been approved.

Major Changes in the Stamp System

The state government has taken a major step towards digitizing the stamp system. Physical stamps (paper stamps) valued between ₹10,000 and ₹25,000 have been discontinued. All transactions will now be conducted through e-stamps. An order will be issued to declare invalid stamps worth ₹5630.87 crore held in various state treasuries.

Announcement of Development Projects in Hardoi and Kanpur

A proposal to transfer land near Maharshi Dadhichi Kund in Tahsil Sadar, Hardoi, free of cost to the Tourism Department to encourage tourism development has been approved.
Land of a closed sugar mill in Kanpur has been decided to be transferred free of cost to UPSIDA (Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority) for industrial use. This will make approximately 451.20 acres of land available for industrial development.

Extension of Tenure for Seven Municipal Corporations

Under the state's Smart City plan, the tenure of the municipal corporations of Ghaziabad, Meerut, Firozabad, Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan, Gorakhpur, and Shahjahanpur has been extended by two years.

7th Pay Commission Benefits for Seven Employees

The state government has approved a proposal to grant 7th Pay Commission benefits to seven employees of the Science and Technology Department.
