Bihar is showing signs of a return to severe heat conditions, with the weather department forecasting the possibility of heatwave conditions in several parts of the state over the next two days. According to the department, maximum temperatures in six districts may reach up to 45 degrees Celsius, while hot and dry winds throughout the day are expected to increase discomfort for residents.

According to meteorologists, the impact of heat is likely to be most pronounced in the southern and western parts of the state. Temperatures are expected to rise rapidly during the afternoon, potentially creating heatwave-like conditions. Hot winds are also forecast to blow at speeds of around 30 kilometres per hour, intensifying the effect of the heat.

Weather conditions had remained relatively normal in several districts over the past few days, but temperatures are now being recorded at higher levels again. The weather department said that clear skies and intense sunshine are expected to increase daytime heat. Strong sunlight from the morning hours may add to discomfort for residents.

Children, elderly people and those who are ill have been advised to take precautions. Health experts said exposure to excessive heat and heatwave conditions may lead to dehydration, dizziness, headaches and heat stroke. People have been advised to drink adequate amounts of water and avoid unnecessary outdoor movement during afternoon hours.

The weather department has advised authorities in districts where temperatures are expected to approach 45 degrees Celsius to remain alert. Instructions have been issued to focus on arrangements for drinking water in public places, availability of health services and emergency preparedness.

Electricity demand is also expected to rise due to the heat. Increased use of air conditioners, coolers and fans may result in higher power consumption, prompting related departments to make necessary preparations to maintain uninterrupted electricity supply.

Rising temperatures may also affect the agricultural sector. Experts have advised farmers to take necessary measures to protect crops and livestock from excessive heat. Arrangements for sufficient water and shaded spaces for animals have also been recommended.

According to the weather department, the impact of heat may continue across several parts of the state for the next 48 hours. Some change in weather is possible after that, but residents are currently expected to prepare for heatwave conditions and hot winds.

The administration and health department have appealed to residents to follow weather advisories, drink sufficient water, wear light clothing and avoid going out in the sun during afternoon hours. The coming two days may test residents in Bihar amid persistent heat conditions.
