Gaya district is set to receive national recognition for various development works and administrative performance, with District Council Chairperson Naina Kumari scheduled to receive a national award on June 3 at a ceremony at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

Representatives, officials and employees of the District Council described the recognition as a matter of pride for the district. Naina Kumari expressed happiness over the announcement and said the recognition was the result of collective efforts by the entire team rather than an individual achievement.

Naina Kumari said the District Council has consistently worked on rural development, infrastructure, sanitation, implementation of public welfare schemes and establishing better coordination at the panchayat level. She said these efforts had led to Gaya District Council receiving recognition at the national level.

She said special emphasis was placed on completing development schemes on time, maintaining transparency and ensuring government facilities reached ordinary citizens. With the cooperation of panchayat representatives, officials and employees, several important schemes were successfully implemented, leading to appreciation of the district’s functioning at the national level.

Officials associated with the District Council said the recognition would serve as motivation for improved work in the future. They said the award could accelerate development work in the district and serve as an example for other institutions.

Local residents also expressed happiness over the recognition, stating that national-level recognition would enhance the district’s identity and standing while strengthening the morale of those involved in development work.

Outstanding panchayat and district council institutions from across the country will be honoured at the award ceremony. Representatives, public representatives and administrative officials from various states are also expected to attend the programme. The selection of Gaya District Council is also being regarded as an achievement for Bihar.

Naina Kumari said development work would continue to remain a priority and efforts would continue to strengthen basic facilities in rural areas. She credited the recognition to the entire District Council team, public representatives and the people of the district.

Ahead of the June 3 ceremony, representatives of the District Council and residents of the district expressed enthusiasm regarding the recognition. They said the achievement is expected to play a role in giving Gaya district recognition at the national level.
