BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Directly Attacks Raj Thackeray Amidst Hindi-Marathi Dispute. Expresses Displeasure Over MNS Workers' Violence, Says No Public Support.
Maharashtra: The controversy surrounding the Hindi and Marathi languages is deepening in Maharashtra these days. This issue has once again taken on a political hue. Particularly, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are at loggerheads. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has launched a sharp attack on MNS chief Raj Thackeray, directly labeling him a leader who spreads "hooliganism."
Nishikant Dubey Again Takes Aim
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote that when Raj Thackeray doesn't get public support, he resorts to politics through goons. He alleged that Thackeray's sole objective is to spread violence, especially when he fears losing in elections. This statement comes before the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, intensifying the political stir.
Cites the 2007 Incident
Nishikant Dubey, referring to an incident mentioned in WikiLeaks in 2007, wrote that at that time, MNS workers attacked a Bihari student. He said that this is not a new thing, but an old tactic of Thackeray's politics. Whenever Thackeray feels that he might lose the elections, he resorts to violence and threats.
'The Limit of Tolerance is Over'
In his statement, Nishikant Dubey also said that the limit of tolerance has now ended. He categorically stated that he is against Thackeray's hooliganism and will not remain silent anymore. He also expressed respect for the Maratha community and said that this country belongs to everyone, not just one community.
Respect for the Maratha Community
The BJP MP, in his post, lauded the role of the Maratha community, writing that where he is an MP, Maratha leader Madhu Limaye has been an MP three times. He said that we had ensured victory for a Maratha against Indira Gandhi. He warned Raj Thackeray not to fight his political battles in the name of the Maratha community.
Contribution of All in the Development of Mumbai
Nishikant Dubey also said that it is not just one community, but all states and communities that have contributed to the development of Mumbai. He claimed that people from Hindi-speaking states like Bihar and Jharkhand have also played a significant role in making Mumbai an economic capital. This statement is considered a response to Thackeray's stance, where he often targets Hindi-speaking people.
Arrest of MNS Workers
Amidst this controversy, another major development has come to light. In connection with the vandalism at the office of entrepreneur Sushil Kedia in the Worli area of Mumbai, the Maharashtra Police have arrested five Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers. The police have registered cases against all of them under several serious sections.
