Apart from Delhi, light to moderate rainfall is expected in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan over the next week. There is a risk of heavy rainfall and landslides in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Incidents of landslides and road closures due to heavy rainfall are continuously occurring in many areas of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rain alert in Rajasthan
A heavy rain warning has been issued for Rajasthan (Rajasthan Weather Alert) for the next two days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in several areas, particularly in Kota, Udaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions. The Meteorological Department said that extremely heavy rainfall is expected in some places in Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Ajmer divisions on July 17. Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded in many parts of the state in the last 24 hours.
Orange alert in five districts of Kerala
The monsoon season is now gaining momentum in Kerala (Kerala Rain Alert). An orange alert (Orange Alert) has been issued in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts of the state. Heavy rainfall of 11 to 20 centimeters is expected in these districts. Apart from this, a yellow alert (Yellow Alert) has also been issued for the remaining 9 districts of the state, where rainfall of 6 to 11 centimeters is possible. Due to the continuous rainfall in Kerala, the water level of the rivers is rising, and waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas.
Rain a disaster in Himachal Pradesh
Heavy rain has become a disaster in Himachal Pradesh (Himachal Pradesh Rain Alert) at this time. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in 2 to 9 districts of the state. Around 200 roads are closed, affecting public life. According to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) data, 105 people have died during the monsoon season from June 20 to July 14. Of these, 61 people died in rain-related incidents and 44 died in road accidents. In addition, 35 people are missing and 184 people have been injured.
