Major Police Action in Sarai Rohilla
The Delhi Police have achieved a major success by busting an illegal arms manufacturing factory in the Sarai Rohilla area. A large quantity of country-made pistols, semi-finished weapons, and raw materials were recovered from the spot. This action was based on an FIR that was registered on the night of August 11 and 12, 2025.
The case began when a woman lodged a complaint that her brother, Shubham alias Lala, was fired upon with a country-made pistol by a minor. A neighbor present at the scene snatched the pistol, but the accused managed to escape. The police later apprehended him, and during interrogation, it was revealed that the weapon was purchased from Vijay alias Bunty of Aligarh.
Interrogation Uncovers Network Details
The police team first apprehended Vijay during a raid. Following his lead, 61-year-old Bijendra Singh, a resident of Mathura, was arrested. Videos of weapon manufacturing were found on his mobile. During interrogation of Bijendra, the name of Hanvir alias Hannu from Aligarh surfaced.
The police also arrested Hanvir, who had been involved in the illegal arms manufacturing business for the past 15-20 years. Investigations revealed that he repeatedly changed factory locations to evade the police and had sold over 1200 weapons so far.
Weapons and Raw Materials Recovered from the Factory
During the raid, the police seized 6 country-made pistols, 12 semi-finished pistols, 6 live cartridges, and 5 empty cartridges. Additionally, raw materials for manufacturing over 250 pistols and weapon-making tools such as a drill machine, blow machine, grinder, saw, and hammer were also recovered.
Following the recovery, police officials stated that the large-scale weapon manufacturing indicates that the supply network might extend to multiple states. The recovered tools and raw materials suggest that the factory had been active for a long time, and a significant number of weapons were being produced.
Three Accused Arrested, Investigation Ongoing
Currently, the police have arrested three accused in this case. Officials stated that an investigation is underway to determine to whom these illegal weapons were supplied and who else might be involved in this network.
The police suspect that the supply of weapons extended to several areas in Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi-NCR region. Further actions are being taken to identify and apprehend the customers and criminals to whom these weapons were provided.
